History of Prevention of Occupational and Environmental Diseases
The history of occupational and environmental medicine is rich but has largely been relegated to passing notice or ignored altogether, even by specialists in the field. Brief summaries of occupational and environmental medical history, when they are included in reviews or more rarely still in educational curricula, have a limited focus on the biographical highlights of selected clinicians and researchers who have contributed to the development of this discipline. The Scientific Committee on the History of Prevention of Occupational and Environmental Diseases includes physicians, industrial hygienists, occupational safety and health professionals, educators, and communication specialists. We welcome anyone who is interested learning and connecting our history to the present. Please visit our website at http://schpoed.weebly.com/ for access to wonderful resources on the history of occupational health and prevention. We welcome you to join our committee and add your historical documents.
