Prof. Jean-François Caillard passed away

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Prof. Jean-François Caillard.

Prof. Caillard was professor in occupational medicine at the University of Rouen, France from 1979 to 2017, year of his retirement. His charisma and passionate commitment in issues related to health and social development earned him recognition at national and international level. He served as ICOH Board member from 1987 to 1990. In 1990 he was ICOH Vice-President in charge of the Scientific Committees. At the end of the ICOH Congress held in Nice, France, in 1993 he became the new elected President and served for two triennia (until 2000). He played a key role in the drafting and publishing of the ICOH Code of Ethics for Occupational Health Professionals (1992) and in the following years he was involved in the revision processes of the Code which led to the publication of the second and third edition of the ICOH Code of Ethics in 2002 and 2014, respectively. We will always remember his remarkable contribution to ICOH and occupational health.
