On April 28, 2024, during the Opening Ceremony of the ICOH2024 Congress, Dr. Marilyn Fingerhut was honoured with the ICOH Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of her lifetime commitment and support within the ICOH community. Dr. Fingerhut participated remotely in the Ceremony and expressed her thanks to the audience, which replied with a standing ovation.

Dr. Marilyn Fingerhut, Ph.D. is retired from the U.S. National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), where she worked for 25 years. She also worked for NIOSH at the World Health Organization in Geneva. Dr. Marilyn Fingerhut, ICOH member since more than 20 years, served as ICOH Board members for the terms 2009-2015 and as ICOH Vice-President for the period 2006-2009 and 2015-2018. She contributed to the leadership organizing several ICOH Congresses and assisted in the founding of the Scientific Committees on Women, Health and Work and Occupational Safety and Health in Mining.
