Dr. Sung-Heui Bae is a Professor in College of Nursing at Ewha
Womans University. She received her BSN and MPH from Seoul
National University and her PhD from the University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill. Before joining Ewha, she served as an
Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at Austin and at the
University at Buffalo, State University of New York.
She is a health services researcher specializing in nursing
workforce, health policy, occupational health, patient outcomes,
and big data in healthcare. She also conducts research on global
health issues. Dr. Bae was ranked among the World’s Top 2%
scientist in 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 by Elsevier and Stanford
University. Since 2024, she has been included in the World’s Top 2%
scientists based on both career-long impact and single-year data.
