Aamir Sohail Ashraf is a Research Scholar in the
Department of Design at the Indian Institute of
Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi), specializing in Human
Factors and Ergonomics.
His doctoral research investigates the ergonomic
implications of floor-sit, chair-sit and standing
postures during computer-based work, with a focus on
musculoskeletal discomfort, fatigue, productivity, and
sedentary behaviour.
His research involves laboratory-based experimental
studies and the development of active work
interventions incorporating postural transitions. His
work has been presented at international conferences,
including the International Ergonomics Association
(IEA) Triennial Congress and the Human Factors and
Ergonomics Society Annual Meeting (HFES), and has
received travel and research awards.
He is also involved in Teaching Assistant duties for
the courses on Human Factors and Applied Ergonomics at
IIT Delhi. His broader research interests include
inclusive design, environment-behaviour research, body-
conscious design, and the social and cultural
dimensions of design.
