ICOH code of ethics revision process calls for ICOH members review

ICOH Secretariat informs all ICOH members that the 2013 table of revisions of the ICOH Code of Ethics proposed at this stage, is available on the ICOH online private area.

ICOH Members are invited to send their text-related comments or recommendations to ICOH Secretariat (icoh@inail.it) no later than 20 December 2013.

The final version will then be compiled in consultation with the Code Editing Group. In this way, the revised version of the Code for its adoption, with any required modifications, will be presented at the Board Meeting scheduled during the ICOH Midterm Meeting in Helsinki next February.

We really thank all those of you who will give their precious contribution and support in order to improve and finalize a such important document in the field of Occupational Health.

ICOH Statement on Global Asbestos Ban and the Elimination of Asbestos-related Diseases

ICOH Working Groups, members of the ICOH Board, NGOs’ representatives and the ICOH President, Dr. Kazutaka Kogi, examined the existing regulations and bans concerning the elimination of Asbestos-related Diseases and enriched the existing statement. This version is based on the deliberations had after receiving comments from ICOH members with regard to the 2012 statement. It is hoped that the 2013 statement reinforces the ICOH action for the global ban and the elimination of asbestos-related diseases in collaboration with ICOH members and our international allies and colleagues.
We strongly thank all those who have given their contribution dedicating their time and work on it.
We hope this ICOH statement represent an important tool towards the global asbestos ban and the elimination of all asbestos-related diseases.

Memorandum of Understanding on Collaboration ICOH-IEA-IOHA

The Triple Memorandum of Understanding on collaboration among the International Commission on Occupational Health, the International Ergonomics Association and International Occupational Hygiene Association has been renewed by the Presidents of the three Associations as of May 1, 2013.

These associations are three of the most important associations concerning the relationship with ILO and WHO.

Look at the Official Memorandum signed by Dr. Kogi (ICOH), Prof. Wang (IEA) and Mr. Naerheim (IOHA).


ICOH declaration on World Day for Safety and Health at Work: 28 April 2013

The International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH) renews its call for joint actions for preventing occupational and work-related diseases and injuries by meeting the changing needs at the workplace in globalizing economy.

ICOH President, Dr. Kogi, stated the ICOH declaration on the occasion of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work of 28 April 2013. In the declaration, he conveys ICOH congratulations to the 94th Anniversary of the ILO.
A special reference is made in the declaration to the theme of the 2013 World Day, Prevention of Occupational Diseases.

The Cochrane Collaboration contributes to the World Day for Health and Safety at Work 2013

The International Labour Organisation celebrates the World Day for Safety and Health at Work on the 28th of April, with a theme for 2013 of prevention of occupational diseases. The Cochrane OSH Review Group and the Cochrane Collaboration are contributing to the World Day with a freely accessible collection of systematic reviews of prevention of occupational diseases. The collection is accompanied by an Editorial in the Cochrane Library.
