Dr. Toru Yoshikawa is a senior researcher of National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, Japan (JNIOSH). He is serving as the acting director of Research Center for Overwork-Related Disorders (RECORDs) of JNIOSH, concurrently. He graduated from University of Occupational and Environmental Health, Japan (UOEH) in 1996, and became a Board Certified Member of the Japanese Society of Internal Medicine in 2000 and a Senior Occupational Health Physician certified by the Japan Society for Occupational Health (JOHS) in 2005. His major areas of interests are researches and practices for workplace environments related to "Karoshi" and "Karojisatsu". Working in technical cooperation projects for developing countries, he contributes to developing training packages for occupational safety and health in Asia and Africa. He is also particularly interested in occupational infection control such as preventing needle stick injuries, proper use of PPE and compensation system for those of them.
