Senior OH Specialist and Adjunct Professor at Indian Institute of Public Health
Gandhinagar (University) India. 40+ years’ experience in teaching and practice of
occupational health. Interest – occupational health teaching, employee wellness,
intersectoral collaborations.
Medical graduation (1978) and postgraduation (Preventive Social Medicine 1982), Nagpur
University, India. Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health and Development from
National Institute of Working Life, Stockholm. Trained at Ludwig Maximilian University,
Munich.
Worked as Professor in Medical college and leadership positions in leading industries
including - IBM (Country Leader, India/South Asia, Integrated Health Services) and Reliance
Industries (Vice President, Medical & Occupational Health) and others. Shyam has won
several awards and delivered keynote lectures and orations, 100+ scientific papers at major
OH conferences. Published several research papers. Served editorial advisory board of
multiple OH Journals.
Fellow and past President, Indian Association of Occupational Health.
