I am currently Professor and Head of the Department (HOD)
of Public Health Medicine, School of Nursing and Public
Health at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. I am
a Specialist Occupational Medicine Physician by training with
a doctorate from the Institute of Risk Assessment Science at
Utrecht University, Netherlands. I am actively involved in
research, clinical practice and student supervision. I have
graduated doctoral and masters students in my fields of interest.
My research interests focus on occupational and
environmental exposures and health impacts on marginalized
communities and healthcare workers. I have both national and
international research collaborations and participate as con-
investigator / co-PI on several grants.
