Dr Muianga is a highly motivated industrial hygienist and
environmental health scientist with extensive experience in
prevention, evaluation, control and management of chemical,
physical and biological hazards. His work focuses public health
assessments and toxicological profiles of environmental
contaminants. Other areas of relevance include management
systems and integrated management systems of quality (ISO
9001), environment (ISO 14001), and occupational health and
safety (ISO 45001). He has about 20 publications, one book and
three book chapters all in occupational and environmental health.
Dr Muianga has demonstrated expertise and leadership in
developing and managing successful public health initiatives,
research, practice and teaching. Dr. Muianga's doctoral research
in public health intervention effectiveness for reducing silica dust
exposures, silicosis and other silica-related diseases served as
conduit to exercise every step of public health practice in various
levels of academy, government and private sector in Mozambique,
the USA and other countries.
