Dr. Crizzle, Professor, has been actively involved in injury and
accident prevention research for the past eleven years and is now
considered one of the Canadian leaders in this field. Investigating
workplace issues and health and wellness outcomes for long-haul
truck drivers (LHTD), in particular, has become an integral part of
his research program. His research examines the individual, social,
environmental and political determinants of health in shaping the
trucking industry. He has obtained over 3 million in funding as PI
(14 million as a Co-Investigator), published over 90 articles/reports
and given over 130 presentations; 20 were invited. He has
previously served on the Board of Directors for the Canadian
Association of Road Safety Professionals, the Saskatchewan Public
Health Association, and was recently on the Truck and Bus
Committee (Transportation Research Board). He also serves as an
Associate Editor for Frontiers of Public Health (Injury Prevention
and Control).
