Claudia Corwin MD MPH is an Environmental / Occupational
Medicine Physician and Transplant Surgeon at the University of Iowa. She has
experience as a medical director for Healthcare Services at
the Iowa Department of Public Health, where she served as
Medical Director for the Iowa Disaster/Terrorism Preparedness
Program. She focuses on the wellbeing of
immigrant and migrant populations.
She has worked with FQHC, Proteus, to lead
the COVID response for Iowa
farmworkers.
Combining her expertise as a surgeon, public health professional
and occupational medicine physician she studies ergonomics
in the workplace and specifically ergonomic challenges for surgeons.
Dr. Corwin studies the needs of essential healthcare workers and their utilization of
healthcare services. She will implement University of Iowa pilot assessment and peer-
coaching intervention, with the intent to scale up.
