Claudia Corwin MD MPH is an environmental and Occupational
and Environmental Medicine Physician who is a clinical associate
professor at the University of Iowa. She has prior experience as a
surgeon as well as the medical director for Healthcare Services at
the Iowa Department of Public Health, where she served as
Medical Director for the Iowa Disaster/Terrorism Preparedness
Program. She has a current focus on the health and wellbeing of
immigrant, migrant and refugee working populations, including the
migrant and seasonal farmworker populations. Over the past year
she has worked with Proteus, a HRSA funded FQHC, to help lead
the pandemic mitigation response for COVID-19 for the migrant
and seasonal farmworkers in Iowa.
Combining her expertise as a surgeon, public health professional
and occupational medicine physician she is interested ergonomics
in the workplace and specifically ergonomic challenges for surgeons
in the operating room.
