Chung-Yen Chen, MD, MSc, is an attending physician in the Department of Environmental and
Occupational Medicine at National Taiwan University (NTU) Hospital's Yunlin Branch. He is
also a Ph.D. student at NTU's Institution of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences,
supervised by Professor Pau-Chung Chen. He graduated from NTU's School of Medicine in
2016 with a double degree in Sociology and a minor in Economics, as well as from the
Institution of Health Policy and Management in 2018. His main areas of interest are labor
sociology and occupational health policy, epidemiology, and medicine, with a focus on under-
diagnosis of occupational diseases in Taiwan. During his master's studies, under the
supervision of Professor Yawen Cheng, he used the population-attributable risk approach to
estimate the magnitude of under-estimation of occupational respiratory diseases and
asbestos-related diseases in Taiwan.
