16th International Congress of the Permanent Commission and International Association on Occupational Health (PCIAOH)
There are 1.738 participants in Tokyo, 824 of whom are Japanese. More represented countries are France (204), USA (204), Sweden (96) Germany (FRG– 41). Even if to a lesser extent, participants from South East Asia are more numerous than in the previous European Congresses.
Organizational effort is huge in this case as well: 343 contributions and communications over ten different rooms in three separate venues.
Relationships with international bodies
Dr. Parmeggiani takes the floor as the Director General of ILO (Chief, Occupational Safety and Health Branch International Labour Office).
Dr. Georges Lambert (France) also in his quality of representative of WHO says "C'est pour manifester l'intérêt de l'Organisation Mondiale de la Santé dans le domaine de la Médicine du Travail que son Directeur-Général, le Docteur Candeau a tenu à répondre à l'aimable invitation des organisateurs du XVI Congrés International de Médicine du Travail, et m'a confié l'honneur de la représenter à cette réunion marquant également les liens de la Commission permanente et l'Association Internationale pour la Médecine du Travail avec l'Organisation Mondiale de la Santé".
